#7: "Henry's Health and Safety" (Season 14) - One of those episodes with Henry as the main character during the Miller era where he does have a brain despite getting carried away with Rocky, this episode points out that rolling stock can cause accidents if they do end up stranded on the main line. One of those episodes from Season 14 that is watchable. The episode does have a clear good message about when there is a time to say 'no', everyone feels in character, and the pacing is not half bad. #8: "Victor Says Yes!" (Season 14) - Clearly this episode being set at the Steamworks has lots of engines, but I think the best part is Victor getting an episode of his very own. But despite its flaws, it's a solid episode overall, and I gotta admit the magnet commands do seem impressive. If the pipes are too hard for Butch to make his magnet work, wouldn't Thomas take the pipes to where they need to go for Butch? Plus, how does Rocky know all the emergencies? I don't know why. Other than the overuse of the narration that never shuts up, it does get a bit annoying with Thomas saying "I know all about this and that" like the your typical know it all side of Thomas (in terms of Seasons 12-16, not fully him as a character in general), and the episode can get stupid here and there.

This is one I can call the one that does stand out, even 10 years after the episode's UK debut, you can tell why this episode has aged well from one reason: Thomas and Butch's dynamic. #9: "Stuck on You!" (Season 15) - Surprisingly, this is the only episode from Season 15 that makes it to this list. Percy wills to do anything he can to save the old calliope from being taken to the scrapyards, but Diesel is skeptical that a steam engine like him would get the calliope to work again. #10: "Percy and the Calliope" (Season 16) - Percy saving a calliope from scrap has been a well praised concept since this episode's release in 2012, and I can agree why. They are all my opinions and that's that. If you don't agree with these choices, that's fine.

God, I could not believe I thought those seasons were alright as a kid!īut I am not going to start talking about those episodes or go into further detail about why that era sucks, I am talking about the episodes from those seasons that are actually the best episodes to come from the five worst seasons.

Sherman as Thomas and Percy in the US dub), the animation from Nitrogen Studios themselves looking surprisingly good, the massive step up with Robert Hartshorne's music during Seasons 13-16, energetic narration from Michael Angelis himself (at least in Season 13), a great movie to kick off Thomas as a full CGI tank engine for all the kids and adults to see (with myself being one of those kids in my hay day growing up during this time), and the fact all of that merchandise they made during this time was amazing to buy like Take-n-Play and the 2009 Trackmaster model train toys, only for this era to slip away from the A-game they built up and became a major downgrade enough to the point where the show hit seasonal rot with Season 12 during that time thanks to the poor quality characterizations and really terrible writing, where as the not perfect, but still high quality and still slightly better than Seasons 9 and 10 writing for Season 11 and "The Great Discovery" were sadly one off things respectively. With really great choices of voice actors in the UK and US English dubs of the Nitrogen half of those five seasons (with Keith Wickham and Kerry Shale as Sir Topham Hatt respectively and Martin T. HiT was truly in their A-game back in the first years of the CGI series.

It's really sad how HiT forgot who most of those characters are and did not care when these seasons came out. Not because of the animation, but because of the writing, unlikable or flanderized characters, the constant overuse of the rhyming, narration, alliteration, the lack of common sense or realism, and the stories written as either overly nonsensical, stupid, frustrating, or just plain bad in general. yeah, most of the episodes from those five seasons have aged poorly and are really terrible, except Season 16 is rather a mediocre season, but the least bad season out of the five.

Seasons 12-16 were a pair of some really bad seasons for the 1984-2020 Thomas the Tank Engine TV series, and all I can say is.
